MEMORANDUM TO THE MEMBER

Dear Members, The Honourable Member (P&V), was on official visit to Bangalore on 04.12.09. The Office bearers intended to meet the Member and submit a Memorandum highlighting the various issues affecting the cadre. As the member had a busy schedule, the intended meeting did not materialise and hence the proposed memorandum has been forwarded to the Member by post. Dear Comrades, Sub:- Recent Developments - concerning the cadre- national and the regional issues - reg. * * * * * * * The Association wishes to inform that the Ministry has granted Grade pay of Rs.4600/- to all the posts in the pre-revised scale of Rs.6500-10500/-. SUPREME COURT'S ORDER ON PAY FIXATION ON PROMOTION FROM OS TO AO

Dear Members, I take this opportunity to inform you all about the decision of the Honourable Supreme Court relating to the cadre. Many of you may be aware that there was a long pending dispute relating to the denial of benefit of pay fixation under Rule FR 22 (1) (a) (1) on the ground of higher responsibilities etc., The issue was agitated in the Honourable Tribunal at Bangalore by many of the affected Officers. The Tribunal took a considered view and allowed the benefit of pay fixation under the Rule, after setting aside the Board's Order dated 24.07.06. The department challenged the order of the Tribunal before the High Court of Karnataka by way of Writ Petition No.10261/2008. The Honourable High Court upheld the order of the Tribunal and dismissed the said petition. Detailed order of the High Court can be accessed on the court's website . MINUTES OF THE GENERAL BODY MEETING OF THE MINISTERIAL OFFICERS ASSOCIATION HELD ON 07.08.09, AT BANGALORE The General Body Meeting of the Ministerial Officers Association was held in the Conference Hall of the C.R. Buildings, Queens Road, Bangalore on 07.08.09 @ 18.00 hrs. The members were introduced to the gathering by Smt. T.V.Rajalakshmi, AO, Hqrs., Bangalore. The meeting commenced with invocation by Smt. Saraswathi Raman, AO, Central Excise, Bangalore –III Comm’te, Bangalore. Shri. Rahul, K, STA, Central Excise, Bangalore –I Commissionerate, welcomed the gathering.
