PROPOSED MERGER OF THE CADRES OF DOS AND STA

Bangalore, the 27th November, 2011 Dear Members, As intimated, a meeting of the Members was held at the conference Hall on 25th November, 2011. The background in which such a decision has been taken by the Board, the implications of the decision and the likely course of action to be adopted by the Association was discussed. Many members were agitated and voiced their serious concerns on the matter. Various doubts and queries raised by the Members on the matter was clarified/explained. It was unanimously decided to oppose the proposed merger strongly, as it is detrimental to the very survival of the cadre. It was also decided to take up the matter with the cadre controlling Commissioner and the zonal Chief Commissioner to apprise the Board of our concerns. Accordingly the office bearers and some of the senior members met the Commissioner and Chief Commissioner to explain the issue and seek their support. Notice for Meeting of Members

Date:- 23.11.2011   Dear Members,             Many of you might have learnt that the Board has  in-principle taken a decision  to merge the cadres of Deputy Office Superintendent and the Senior Tax Assistant. The All India Association has already lodged its strong protest and is likely to embark upon a path of agitation over the issue. In this background, an emergency meeting of all the Members is convened on the 25 th of November, 2011 at the conference Hall of Hqrs., Office, CR Buildings, Bangalore . All the members are requested to kindly participate in the deliberations and give their valuable inputs/views/suggestions on the matter. Looking forward to your enthusiastic response, I remain. PROMOTION ORDERS ISSUED

Bangalore, the 15th September, 2011. The orders for promotion from the grade of STA to Inspectors have been finally been issued. A total of STAs have been promoted as Inspectors and are retained in their current places of posting, except in a few case, until the forthcoming AGT. Promotion to the Grade of Inspectors - Call letter for physical test and Interview

Bangalore, the 30th August, 2011. Dear Members, Many of the eligible STAs are eagerly awaiting for their promotion to the grade of Inspectors and are anxious to know the current status. In this regard, it is to state that the proposal for holding DPC to fill up the existing vacancies is already under process. As a result of this , the letter/circular regarding holding of Physcial test and interview for the eligible candidates have been issued, a copy of which is placed below for information. COPY OF CALL LETTER/CIRCULAR The Physical Test and Interview is slated to be held on the 6th of September, 2011. The seniority list of STA is likely to be issued shortly, i.e., before 6.9.2011. Further the number of actual vacancies to be filled up by promotion (with the breakup - Reserved/General) is not known to the Association, and therefore it is not possible to exactly state as to how many candidates might eventually get promoted. UPDATE ON RECENT DEVELOPMENTS

Dear Members, It is quite sometime since the blog was updated while, the blog of the All India Association was being updated regularly over the developments on the various issues. After my elevation/appointment as the Assistant Secretary General of the All India Association I was pre-occupied with the Departmental Anomaly committee Meetings and other related common issues, like cadre restructuring, AO/DOS Grade Pay, CAO promotions, that are being pursued by the All India Association. Due to this, and the fact that some of our Office bearers are either transferred out of the zone or are posted away from the Headquarters, the functioning of the Association had been affected to a certain extent, but that does not mean that the Association has become non-functional. UPDATE ON VARIOUS ISSUES

Bangalore, the 14th February, 2011 Dear Members, It is a long time since an update was provided on the affairs and recent activities of the Association , more so at the local level apart from the status of the cadre restructuring at All India level. I hope most of you are aware of the later part i.e., the cadre restructuring status from the All India Association's blog. As regards the local issue, there were a couple of things that were required to be brought to the notice of all the Members. The first one being the nomination/co-opting of a few office bearers and also the follow up action on the points raised in the last JCM meeting held on 15.09.2010, which are being addressed hereunder. Changes/Nomination of New Office Bearers:- Shri. Absi, S.S who was elected/nominated as the Joint Secretary for Bangalore -I Commissionerate, had proceeded on deputation to Cochin Zone and in his place, Shri.A.Kannan, has been co-opted/nominated to function as the Joint Secretary until the
