Hard work betrays none The team at AIB has been working very hard to insert protection/retention clause ("retention of existing eligibility criteria") in the Recruitment Rules in the grade of Executive Assistant to protect the interests of the Ministerial officers who have been deprived of the promotional aspects.  It has been learnt that DOPT returned the proposal with an observation that "protection clause is not applicable as the RRs for the post of EA was framed first time in 2015 and the earlier promotional and feeder grade are not on the same footing." Comrades!  The date 28-09-2015 marks a black day for the Tax Assistants of the GST & Customs department all over the country. It was on this day 5 years ago that Tax Assistants, an integral cadre of the Ministerial community, got a rude jolt as their dreams and aspirations of getting promotions were crashed suddenly.
